New power antenna does not go up

New power antenna does not go up

Just replaced the old power antenna with a new one from Toyota swapped it plugged it in, does not go up...anyone know what the issue could be?

Swap it to a Tacoma/pickup/1st gen 4Runner whip antenna.

Use a multimeter. So much easier than guessing.

There are two leads, they just reverse polarity to change direction. Hook up your multimeter to the connector, see if you get any power when turning on the radio.

(With more clues I could be more specific; is there power to the radio? Do you hear the antenna motor running? Stuff like that.)

The radio gets power and works, I do not hear any sound coming from the power antenna

the motor to your antenna looks almost identical to the windshield wiper motor, If I remember right. inspect that. when you turn the radio on, that motor should click.

No. It it's supposed to be automatic when the Acc on the ignition is selected.
