95 4runner turn signal combo switch?

My problem started a few months ago. My wife was driving the 4runner home and out of nowhere, the headlights shut off, the right turn signal wouldn't work and would buzz really loud when I tried it. Also, the windshield wipers turned on by themselves and would not stop until I pulled the fuze. The hazard lights still work. The small front light headlight still turns on but the 2 main ones and small left one do not. Neither do the orange park lights. The taillights and brake lights work fine. I ordered a used switch to replace mine but I'm still having problems. Now the windshield wipers work normal but everything else is still giving me problems. Do you think the switch I just ordered is also bad? What else could be causing my problem?
Thank you.

I take it you never checked or tested anything??

Sounds to me like you have some harness damage up on the front of the vehicle.

Simple to check both the old switch and the replacement.

As Wyoming9 says, you're just moving backwards replacing parts on the gosh-and-by-golly. Here's some help to check the switch: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../4lighting.pdf

It's just electricity; you only need to trace it through to find the problem.

Headlights, tailights, signal lights....all of these are controlled by relays where the switch completes the coil path to ground. They all depend on the same ground point. Not sure if 95 is the same as 90-94, but 90-94 it is under the left kick panel. Sounds like you have a bad connection there or you have a broken ground wire or a bad connection between this ground point and the steering column harness.

Be nice if you posted where you are help could be close at hand.

If you don`t have a multimeter now is a good time.

Just try one system at a time.
