Intake manifold and fuel injectors cleaned/reinstalled but now she wont start!
Help! By no means am I a mechanic, this is my first "big job" ive done on my 88 22re 4runner. Let alone any motor..
Everything seemed to have bolted back up good. Had a little issue with one of the thermostat bolts. Now that everything's back together, she dont want to start! I checked the fuel line and there definitely fuel getting in there. Im not sure what else could be the problem. I didnt touch anything on the exhaust side, and she was starting fine before i started this project.
Would a leaky gasket cause it not to start? What elseshould I be looking for? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Just printed out a diagram, ill double check every hose is in its right place. I didnt touch the AFM. Could the throttle position sensor be playing a role? I did have that off during the cleaning phase. Now thinking I could have gotten away with not doing so.

It's pretty easy to read the TPS to make sure it works:

I've heard of people spraying too much cleaner into their intake and damaging them, but it is not easy. I would check the intake elbow (the rubber thingy) to see if there is any cracks/holes in it.

Thats a great link, thanks!
Well she's decided to start up all on her own. Dont ask me how but its starting fine everytime. My next issue is now during acceleration maybe around 3k (I dont have a rpm gauge) it decides to bog out. Engine light is on. Any suggestions?
Lucky me my thermostat housing is leaking. Does anyone suggest something other than helicoiling it? Never have before.. Guess I could give it a try
