Help! I just rebuild my 22re, I thought I was very through, the engine turned over good with a new starter, the timing was done proper, then it refused to cooperate with the starter. All of a sudden I can't turn the crank with a breaker bar even with the plugs out. And now I can put it in first gear and push it backwards! Could I have put the clutch in the wrong way? I'm stumped!

 

have you actually started the engine up since it was rebuilt?

or you are just turning it over so far, never started?
