No oil pressure after oil change.

I recently changed the oil on my 1994 4x4 22re pickup and come to find out the previous owner hasn't changed the oil since god knows when. I now have no oil pressure but when I drive it I don't hear any unusual noises coming from the top of the engine. I'm fairly new to this so could y'all spell it out for me?

What are you basing "no oil pressure" on? Have you actually tested for oil pressure readings, or are you relying on a gauge in the cab?

If you changed the filter, you probably hit the oil pressure sender, and knocked the plug loose. Just below and rear of the the filter. (22RE) check that first. The stock gauges aren't the most accurate for readings, but it should show something unless unplugged or gauge burnt out.

I'm basing no oil pressure on the stock gauges. They worked fine before the oil change. I'll definitely check the sensor.

Yep. Looks like the wire lost the clip.

What would be an effective fix for it?

Well, it's a funky square clip that goes onto either type of sender. Lemme get a pic of mine so you can source one, or engineer a temporary fix.

It just slides over the top of the button, parallel to the block, if you have a gauge. For an idiot light, it goes on the blade, at 90* to the block.
Maybe you could modify a female blade to fit over the button? It should have a harness connection 4-6" up the wire, you may find a whole new end in a JY or somewhere.

No worries. I know how nuts no oil pressure indication makes me. My sender isn't working. Haven't found one in a yard yet, ain't payin $70 for a new one...

You can modify a standard female crimp on connector to work. Enlarge the slit in the bottom and it should slide right on.
