Les Schwab wont touch my brakes

Les Schwab won't fix my brakes they say my truck is not safe and they don't want the liability as a corporation to fix my brakes. They had me walk under my truck and showed me every flaw that freaked them out. They don't like that she has been bobbed, they don't like her welds, they don't like her wheel bearings. You think she's not safe now how about when I can't stop cause I have no brakes.
They funny part is: ( Les Schwab) "We are used to working on trucks like yours" (Me) Are you sure? (Schwab) "positive" Until they went to check her brakes...the big "OMG"

They think I have a leaky wheel Cylinder. But they won't fix it....more stress, just what I !@#$ needed. So I guess its time to learn to fix my own breaks, I wonder how hard it is to change out a wheel cylinder? Good thing I bought a bigger Jack!!!!
(Don't mean to carry on but they really ticked me off)

Brakes are like basic fundamental mechanicinicin...

No I didn't But let me tell you I wish everyday that I had.

I bought it(not knowing) thinking everything was fine. But I will certainly build the next one!!! I hate brakes, but if I havvvvve to, I guess Ill do it. I just don't like all the springs and crap!!! And I am running short on time due to reg and smog stuff. Just thought it would be nice to have a pro do it they have all the stuff on hand. Basic mechanik stuff yes, but I hate it......

Brakes are like the easiest thing to do besides changing your own oil. Put on your big boy britches and get er done.

Sometimes letting folks know where you are helps. There may be someone nearby that is willing to lend a hand and teach you some things.

Red face

We really need to see just how bad this truck is.

In this day and age (bounty on lawyers anyone) with no one taking any responsibility for doing anything but a select few of us.

I can understand Them not working on your Truck I think a lot had to do with your gender but so very hard to prove.

Yes I gotta admit as well I hate working on brakes as well not that I can`t when it needs done

Gender Issue

When it comes to my gender I have been dealing with boys(not men) getting mad or not wanting to help for as long as I have been working on cars. My brothers have had to deal with a few of them face to face a couple of times. I think Les Schwab boys thought it was my boyfriends truck, when they found it was mine and I was rebuilding her the refused to help. But proving that this was their motivation, near impossible. I had a bad wheel bearing that needed fixing...they fixed it only because I made them aware that me leaving their shop with them having the knowledge that my tire was about to fall off could possibly lead to a major liability issue for them. They agreed and fixed it!! And I stand corrected my tires are 35s not 30s. But it doesn't matter I will fix my brakes it has to be easier than the wiring harness...right?

If I need further help I will come back here to Yotatech where I have received more help and support than anywhere else

PS the videos are awesome thank you

How bad this truck is....I will send picks as to why they wouldn't fix the wheel cylinders, and wouldn't install an ebrake cable. I have to figure out how long it needs to be for the 80 body I don't think it should be tough to install.

First Drum brake work...

Struggled a little with the adjuster but didn't quit till I figured it out, yep I locked it up really tight..lol. Found the release tab and turned it back the other way..yay it came right off. Didn't find it leaky but I cant ignore the gunk on the rim. I am currently trying to find a source for Aisin cylinders apparently its a 7/8 bore. Can I put a 1" bore or should I stick with what is there? Its pretty rusty but when I pulled the hub off it was drys, no fluid until I pulled the rubber caps back, seemed like the fluid had pretty good pressure too.

Shows your thinking just don`t use cinder blocks to support your truck.
