here we go again failed emssions

the truck =94 4runner 3.0
the test 2 speed idle

2500 rpm idle
limit reading limit reading
hc 200 1693 200 432
co 1 .63 1 .02

so not knowing much about the readings I'm told it dumping raw fuel into pipe
to look for bad plug
or wire

will be at it today looking

yes its running bit rough and low idle
but that is all random
it coded a code 26 only during test but hasn't mostly during driving
but it never sits and idles much in and go

plugs wires cap rotor injectors fuel filter all replaced in summer

I really couldn't understand what you are trying to say. be clear and specific. the only thing I could understand is code 26

code 26 is rich condition.
here is what to look at:

Engine ground bolt loose

Open in E1 circuit

Short in injector circuit

Fuel line pressure (Injector

. leakage, etc.)

Open or short in cold start

injector circuit

Cold start injector

Open or short in heated oxygen

sensor circuit

Heated oxygen sensor

Engine coolant temp. sensor

Volume air flow meter

Compression pressure

that cam from the fsm. good luck,

the test says its way out on hydro carbons

so I'm told it has way to much un spent fuel

ie rich

which goes in line with code 26

i have replaced lots of normal stuff to try to cover the stuff that comes up with code 26

and once again still messed up
and looking for more direction
I was hoping someone could see test results and have a clue as to what might be causing things to be so high

so I could narrow down the search

when is the last time you changed/check the o2 sensor? it has a lot to do with fuel mixture.

the other likely suspect is the engine coolant sensor. If it is bad the engine thinks its still cold and continues to activate the cold start injector sending extra fuel into the engine.

if those check out try the afm.

You say it runs a bit rough? I would do a compression check to verify your not fighting a burnt valve...most of the 3.0's i've seen with a misfire, had low compression.

If you have a dead miss, that's easy to find. Pull plug wires 'till you find the offending cyl. Old trick. Hold a dollar bill by the end and hold it near the tailpipe. If it jumps away and then sucks back to the pipe in a rhythmic fashion you either have a tight or burn't valve.

The cold start injector only pumps for a couple of seconds...unless it can keep turning on over and over again...
