Rusted Axle Housing

2002 Tundra 4x4 V8. Dealer took care of frame rot recall by coating the frame but since then the rear axle housing rusted through and all fluid leaked out. Mechanic can't weld it. Can't find a used cheap enough. Any recommendations besides ordering a new $800 casing and swapping all of the guts?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Find someone that can weld!!

I am not sure of the Tundra but I had figured out on the Tacoma a standard pipe cap could be welded on.

I can`t remember the size.

I would just need to weld in a fill plug.

T100 uses same rear axle, although gears will be different.

I am the guy with the 02 tundra 5 years ago, with the rusted welded on cover. When I originally discovered the leak, I drain it, washed the exterior, then sandbladted the exterior, then applied 3 layers of JB WELD. There is nothing to weld to, as this cover plate is very thin, and corroded..2 years later the JB WELD has given out. IT is time to replave the entire AXLE HOUSING. anything under $1,900.oo is reasonable [ fiigure 3 loan payments ]

Well one would need to replace the whole back of the rear I am trying to get my hands on a rusted housing .

To show how easy it is to fix this problem.
If shipping would not be so expensive I could do them on a exchange basis

Like anything else to do this correct you need to pull the housing out of the truck .
