Questions about locker and spool for my D.D.

I have the option of buying some used parts for my 85 4Runner.

2 set up 3rds.
5.29s
One with a spool
And one with a Detroit

I would like to put the spool in the back and the Detroit in the front.

Ok not realy my DD but I only put on around 1500 miles a year total

4” list
5 speed
Om617 diesel.

33”-35” tires

What are the pro and cones please

With a Detroit in the rear, its gonna work great on the trails, suck peanuts on the street. It'll eat the rear tires for lunch...

Sounds like a fun project. Keep us posted with pics!

1500 miles a year id put the spool in the rear and the locker up front. The rear shouldn't hop too bad unless your in a parking lot or making tight turns. And id go with 35's, ive got 36's and i love em, mine actually is a DD, right now im driving 1 hr each way to work, and with a diesel it shouldn't kill mileage.
