wont start unless i pull the negative battery cable first?

I am having a problem with my 95 yota pickup where I have to pull the negative battery cable for at least a minute before it will start. even if i just had it running. also if i stalled it out, then bump started it, it will fire right up. any ideas on why it would be doing this? i am lost..

battery is good, alternator is also good . it just seems i have to reset somthing before it will turn it over with the electric start

Is there an alarm system/kill switch system that may be causing the issue?

If this does not have a Alarm

I would almost guess your problem is having bad grounds .

i am not sure what this bump starting is??? Does it involve using or threatening with a real big hammer??

In this condition you have no electrical power at all??

Lights work, radio etc??

Engine does not crank??

Engine Cranks but does not start??

are we dealing with a manual or auto??

Oh, god .....

Every electrical connection is now suspect. If you get it running, you should be prepared for it regularly dying without warning.

Please, please, don't try to sell it unless you disclose that it sat in water for 5 months. Better yet, don't try to sell it at all.

Pulling the wire resets the CPU and the diagnostics. There's a lot of sensors that correct only after two starts. So it'll run on factory setting the first, then adjust when you go to start the truck again. I have no idea which one it might be... that's a wild goose chase.

bump starting is pushing it down the road and then putting it in gear and it will fire up. all the lights work and everything, and when it cranks it always starts. just after i have it running, i will shut it off, then i have to disconnect the negative battery cable for it to start again. it is a manual

I have a complete parts truck that i have been stealing parts off. so far i have stole the computer out it but no luck. I am going to try to replace the negative battery cable next but i doubt that will work. what else could i try and replace?

I dont plan to sell it, i have way to much money into them now haha
