22re conversion fuel tank options

Hey guys... New to the board and have a question...

Doing the EFI conversion on a 94 d/c 22r to 22re... Got everything done except the fuel tank and getting an autoelec to change over the loom from a corona 142...

Question is relating to the fuel tank... Basically as I understand it we can do a surge tank setup? lp pump inside to filter to surge tank, to hp filter, hp pump fuel rail and then return to surge tank, return to tank...

OR

Is there a fuel sender unit that can it the 22r standard tank?

OR

Will a tank out of the 2.7 efi models from 98 on fit it?

My mech is my cousin and doing it when he can, so we're a little unsure of how to go here but I think we'd both like it to be finished sooner than later...

I'd love a hilux 22re d/c tank but i'll be stuffed if I can find one down here...

Cheers for any help!!!

Alex

Carbed tank, EFI tank

Jig saw, reinforcing plate, magic marker? ie cut a bigger hole and put new plate mount in the carb tank. Just an off the top of my head suggestion with a few photos, seems a lot simpler than a multi pump setup.

Be nice to know just where down here is??

What ever works.

Now because of the higher fuel pressure where your not using steel line it is best to use fuel injection hose and clamps .

That said the simple and easy way is to put a electric fuel pump as close as practical to where the suction line comes out of the tank as electric pumps push better then pull.

Fuel filter installed in a easy to change place .

Having no idea of the budget a stock filter of the newer style with the threaded connections I would use over the banjo bolt style connections

Cheers guys!

... Should have filled in my profile, I'm in Sydney Australia... My mech reckons the tank out of a dual cab 2.7 efi will fit up just fine so gonna see if I can find one of those...

Any thoughts?
