91 Catalytic Converter Price

How much would a Catalytic converter cost at the dealer and is it hard to put it in? I think mine is bad because it rattles when the engine is at high rpm. Thanks for your advice.

The last time I checked it was around $700-800 at the dealers (just for the part).
My advice to you is to get universal cat. The price would be around $120-150 WITH installation

Just go to ANY muffler shop in your area. Their prices should be roughly the same.

Actually, J.C. Whitney (of all places) sells a direct fit replacement cat for $99.99. I bought one for my Mazda Miata and it matched perfectly. Much easier than trying to make a universal fit. I don't know about emissions since I'm not subject to testing but it had a Calif. certification number with it so it should be efficient enough to pass.
