1985 22RE Running rough

Hey guys, heres's my problem. Truck will be runninig along fine then for no apparent reason it acts like it bogs down starts "bucking" real bad and back- firing. I can push in the clutch and it will rev with no problem but when I let the clutch back out and start to accelerate it will start "bucking and back-firing again. It did that for about 10 mins. then it stopped and I could go thru the gears with no problems. I've replaced the plugs, plug wires and the fuel filter and still having problems. You're thoughts are appreciated! Thanks

Well I ran some gas treatment with water remover thru the tank and so far haven't had the rough running that I was experiencing. Hopefully water in fuel was the cause!

I would change your fuel filter. When you run out of gas you suck up all the dirt/dust etc. that is lying at the bottom or your fuel tank, It may be clogged.

I just dealt with a similar problem on an 85 runner (22re). It would start and run, but wouldn't hold idle until it got warmed up (even then it would often die). Bogged down like crazy while driving around town.

My fuel tank was glazed and filthy, the fuel filter needed replaced, the injectors were filthy, and I had a loose intake, so air was sneaking in after sensor. now it runs ok, but will need to do something about the tank as it will repeat the problem if not cleaned out
