Suspension Upgrade-Regear, ball joint spacers

Hello-
So the time has come to upgrade my 89's stock (as in ORIGIONAL shocks, ball joints, everything). I'm thinking about a ball joint spacer kit for the front, procomp shocks, sway-a-way torsion bars, and then 33"x12.5xR15 tires.
Has anybody had any luck/experience with the ball joint spacers?
It seems great in theory, but I'm concerned about strength/durability. I'm not running the Baja 1000, but I take it out on the dunes/wheeling regularly.

And then also, I managed to pick up a 4.56 ring n pinion on craigslist for $40. If i run 4.56 in the rear, and 4.10 in the front will that cause any issues? Mostly on sand or mud.
Thanks in advance
Kai

Ok, great. I had found different opinions online, so I just wanted to directly talk with someone who had experience with them. What about the gearing issue?
Thanks

You have to have matching ratios or your tires will be spinning at different rpms

Right. But with a .46 difference, will it matter? Obviously it wouldn't work on asphalt, but in the sand or mud would it cause any problems?

no bueno, amigo. your front and rear will not be spinning at the same RPM's, and they one will want to speed up or slow down to match the other, and something gotta give. just check out the classified section on here and match up your gears.

Don't look at the fractional difference in gearing, rather look at the relative difference, or 4.56 / 4.10 = 1.11 or 11%. That means the front tires will want to spin 11% faster than the rear tires, or for every 9 revolutions the front tires make, the rears will only make 8 revolutions. Basically the front tries will be trying to drag the rear tires along, would not drive very well.

Ok, thanks. Now final question...are the front and rear ring n pinions the same? Now I'm kinda thinking I should take my ring and pinion and put it in the front, then get a limited slip/locking 4.56 rear diff.
