Oil sending unit ?

I put a new gauge cluster in my sons truck,an '85' 4Runner 22RE, this one has the amps, temp, fuel and oil pressure. My question is where do I hook the sending unit up to and then where does the wire go or how does it connect to the gauge in dash? Thanks

If you had the old style then you had an oil pressure sending unit that just tripped a light. The newer gauge cluster actually registers pressure so you need the other type sending unit.

Ok, I have that, he sent it with the cluster. So I just change out the sending unit and I'll be fine?

You shouldn't have to do anything else once you change out the sending unit.

Yes. It's right underneath your oil filter. Just pull the connector off and swap out the sending unit. It should be a 14mm wrench. The connector will slide onto the tab on the new unit. It doesn't plug straight in like the old unit. You'll see the notch on the connector when you take it off and it'll make sense then.
