93 pickup. Its a cheap project that I'm trying to keep cheap. All thats left to do besides put the motor in is to lift the truck just enough to clear some 17" wheels with wide AT tires.

For my Tacoma I just bought a rear AAL and some adjustable shocks in the front... got about 2.5" of lift for less than $250. I'd like to do something similar for this truck if I can find this stuff. I'm not looking for spacers or blocks.

Anyone that can give me some advice or recommendations, even links on kinda what I'm after it would be appreciated.

I have searched, and I have checked vendor websites, but I'm not looking to get an expensive full kit, blocks or spacers.

Ok, thanks for the link, but am I missing something? All I'm seeing there is stuff about lockers and gearing, I'm trying to basically figure out my cheap lift options.

 

cheap lift = spacer lift. period

 

To me cheap would be less than 300.

these are IFS trucks...

bj spacers, and add a leafs, or a body lift... those are your options for relatively cheap.

ok i will spoon feed you. your tacoma and your 93 truck have different suspensions. so your easy lift on your tacoma will not work on the 93. so for less then 300 your options are: 1)bj spacers new shocks and aal's 2) body lift

 

How big do you plan on going to need a lift at all? My 86 is on stock suspension and 35" tires and if the stock rear springs weren't hammered and bent, they would only rub at full lock when twisted up off-road. Hammered on the firewall a touch and knocked the very bottom corner off the fenders in the front, rear is cut up to the first body line now and getting chevy springs soon since it's sagged out so bad. This pic is without any rear cutting and the tires were just touching the top of the rear wheelwell with it like that.

You can crank the torsion bars up in the front for a little lift, but it rides like ass.

 

My old 94 (back when it was new. Lol) was AAL, torsion bar, and body lift running 35's in the mud. It was no crawler, but it worked for me.

 

good call on the replacement shocks fellas, I forgot to mention that if you use ball joint spacers that new shocks are also required

 

I run 33x10.50 r15's at stock height and no torsion adjustment. All i did was hammer my pinch welds flat (I didnt even bend the mount behind them). You could probably get away with running a 285/70/r17 (33x11.5 r17) with mild torsion bar crank and a pinch weld mod.

And no my tires dont rub. Forgot to mention that. You might try a 2'' body lift. They dont look.. that bad.

Wow, apparently my stock suspension is toast then, I held the wheels and tires up to the pickup and they will clearly rub. aal in the back might be enough... I will get a picture up here of it in a bit.

 

If you are experiencing the sagging backend like on my truck do some searching for the zuk mod as well.. very cheap way to raise or just beef up the rear end of your truck.

 

Simply rolling the tires up next to it will not tell you much. Now if you jack up the truck and center the tire with the hub, then you can tell more about how it would fit.

 

Yeah, your right. I checked out the zuk mod, that might be my best and cheapest rear option... Now if I just deal with it and buy a 2" spacer for the front, I will need new shocks, right? This is where I start to get confused.
