I wish I had a dollar every time someone said it is not hard to do something.I guess it all comes down to how you define hard once you have done a few I will agree it is not technicality hard easy it is not.
Having the correct tools having it up on a lift all makes it somewhat easier.
Not knowing all the shortcuts
Having no idea the transmission and transfer case is going to twist to the side of the front driveshaft
dealing with rounded off hardware that has also been in there from new.
How do you get the top bolt out of the starter all kinds of interesting things.:jessica:

Remove the body and you'll have unrestricted access to the tranny. Who ever told you to just slide the trans back a little and the engine forward is some one I wouldn't listen to any more. You'll have to completely remove the trans from the vehicle to access the cluth pressure plate, disc, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and the flywheel. Don't forget to resurface the flywheel as well...gotta ask this question though: You really gonna tackle this by yourself?
Buy or download the FSM and you'll be miles ahead before you even turn one bolt/ nut! Seriously...read and understand the whole process first...or have your local tow company's number handy.

Yeah..I don't really rely on Hanes alone...I have two retired yota techs at work and they both helped me do mine. Their knowledge was priceless.
