Hi there-
My 88 4runner v6 5spd manual is making a cluncking noise when I am at a dead stop on an incline and then go. Also does it when stopped on the flat ground and give it a good amount of gas on the take off. I can feel a knock or vibration when the noise occurs. A couople years back I had a clutch slip on me for a few weeks then destroy its self. Could it be the beginning of the end for another clutch? I have not noticed any noise or vibrations in any other gears yet.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Check your u joints, suspension and sway bars.

Replacing 90% of the suspension soon and sway bar is gone.
