Faint low knocking sound
88 v6 manual, I hear a faint knock at low rpms doesn't matter if engine is warm or cold. I can't hear it from the bottom of the oil pan but it sound the strongest from the front drivers side close to the distributor. The only thing I have done was change the oil a week ago. I also hear a growling noise that fades as the engine warms.
Afaik this engine still has the factory timing belt it has low miles <60,000. My timing has a slight deviation about a 5-8* bounce and a mild shake at idle. I'm thinking a new belt will solve my issues. The shake, timing bounce and knocking noise seems to be in unison.

I went out to take a look at it this morning, couldn't hear a knock at all but I did see some coolant ontop the water pump area, that explains the growling. Since I need to replace the pump I will go with a belt change too. I did some stethoscoping couldn't hear anything knocking maybe just a imaginary thing.
