unknown connector in wiring harness

I found this connector while doing a little work today;

the more i fix the more issues i find. The truck runs fine without it connected but i was wondering what it's for? anyone know?
Looks to be a ground possibly but i can't find anything to connect it to.

That describes just about every '80's/'90's Toyota I've ever bought pre-owned. And most of the fixes are round-2/3, fixing what else the po broke trying to fix something.
