rear window up or down when off roading?
A friend recommended that I lower the rear window on my 2nd gen 4runner an inch or so when offroading, otherwise the window may break. Anyone hear of this? on

Never heard of it. I often drive logging and desert roads with all windows up and A/C on full. No issues with pressure as I'm sure your friend might be thinking. The air vents on our 2nd gens are at the rear of either rear quarter window to allow for air flow and pressure equalization.

What's your friend drive??? Have personal experience with our trucks?
As for me and my 1st Gen Runner I have never broken the window but if it is down out here in our deserts you get clouds of dust inside the cabin.
