Guys/Gals,

For those of you with AC in your trucks, could you please tell me, or better yet, show me with a pic where this green plug plugs into? This is off the box directly below the glove box, underneath the dash.

Belongs to the AC Amplifier card circuit. The AC Amplifier card is located in a small compartment on the AC unit and a matching connector should be on the wiring harness going to the engine compartment and AC Relay (4x4).

 

My '82 did not come with a factory AC. But I was able to verify that although my truck did not come with AC from the factory, it does in fact have all the wiring and connections FOR a/c as a part of the harness.

Where I'm getting lost is beneath the glove box. Can you tell me where I could find the AC relay?

Sorry, I can not take a photo because my truck is in storage but here is what I can give you. 1-8 Pole plug on the wiring harness plugs into the AC amplifier, 1-2 pole plug goes to the pressure switch, 1-2 pole plug goes to Thermister, 1-2 pole plug goes to the Control Resistor, 1-6 pole plug connects to the engine harness, 1-4 pole plug goes to the Water Temperature Switch relay (round relay) (located on the passenger side, up near the seat belt warning relay), 1-1 pole plug goes to the Water Temperature Switch (located on the cylinder head near the center of the intake manifold). You should have a VSV (Idle up) on the passenger side inner fender close to the firewall 1-2 pole plug. This increases your engine idle when the AC Compressor comes on. Hope this info helps.

 

I finally figured it out. Thanks for the responses. Very helpful in pointing me in the right direction.

I once did a an a/c swap into an '89 Nissan Sentra. Tedious and time consuming, but I got it to work. I must say swapping in a factory a/c system in these trucks is 100x easier! Love it.
