Dang, that could be nearly anything on the truck... Loose tailgate, fender bolts, loose hood hinges, loose grill bolt, really anything... Is it coming at a certain RPM? From a certain area?

My '84 rattles and squeaks at all RPMs and under any circumstances and from all areas. But until something falls off, I dont worry about it. Part of the experience....

i dont think its any part of the body, it sounds rpm related.
It is an old truck though. is there any possibilty of chatter coming from the t case or tranny?

Timing chain...whens the last time it was replaced, could have broken guides.

It cant be the timing chain, its a new engine, and way far from where the sound is coming from.

it almost sounds like its coming from the dash or bell housing...
