Hello, I have run across a very clean 4runner in my home town and the owner no longer has use for it. I could not pass up the purchase and will be adding it to my collection shortly. I plan on restoring the rig to its factory condition with a good buff of the paint, but before that I will give it a pretty extensive tune up. I will post more as time goes by, but for now I guess I am starting this thread just to post some pictures!

i'll post pics of the interior after a light cleanup/vacuum. i have a few pics but they don't do it justice. looks to be in really fair shape, no rips on the fabric. only the steering wheel cover seems to be faded

I bought the truck and just started driving the heck out of it. So far I've done pretty minimal work on the thing, aside from a lot of cleanup with the chrome, back to black, vacuum and a half-assed buff job on part of the rig. at 145,000 miles the timing belt has not been changed, but I am not too worried about it at the moment seeing as the motor is non-interference.

Surprisingly I have not had to do hardly anything to the motor. It does have a cold start issue that I have not addressed, and there were two missing vacuum hoses. The power steering pump is threatening to fail and someone installed a factory replacement muffler with smaller exhaust tubing, which probably drives me crazy more than anything. With fuel mileage I have been seeing 13mpg around town and a max of 18.1mpg on the highway. I'm hoping in the future that some mods can bring that mileage up to 21mpg highway. This would include a new cap, rotor, plug wires (ngk) and plugs (ngkr). I will also do a drop in KnN filter and a cat back exhaust. Something like a quiet magnaflo. Anything else I should consider???? Thanks for looking!!

Very nice 4Runner! It rivals some of the high dollar ones that show up on eBay. It must be unusual to have such a fine survivor in Idaho. I know my old 4Runner is unique in Virginia. Your little boy wants you to keep it til he can drive! It won't be long!

 

Very Nice Clean Runner. White gets more and more appealing to me everytime I see a nice one like yours.

 

Your runner has cleaned up very nicely. A clean stock looking truck always gets alot of looks. I see your center console arm rest is missing. Finding one could be difficult. I had the same problem on mine and used one out of a Camry or Corolla and it is wider then the Runners. I like it better then what would of came with it. Works great when two people are in at the same time. Just thought I would give some other options. Keeps looking better.

I'm actually not too concerned about this item. I use that area a lot to hold random things including my wallet and cell phone, so not having to lift something every time to access it is kind of a bonus. Plus it does somewhat work as an arm rest.

Did anyone notice my FJ stereo install? The wiring harness was the same and I'm really happy with the sound of the stock speakers. It is really well balanced and centered. I love oem!
