Stock front axle shaft spline wear

So i pulled my driver side axle shaft last night while working on a knuckle rebuild. This is what the inner spline looked like. Should i be concerned? What do you think the wear pattern indicates? It has 4.88's and a detroit up front.

Notice the wear pattern?

Probably just had some water in the diff at one point. I wouldn't worry about it.

I suppose that is a valid option. However doesnt it seem weird that the "stains" or "wear" are almost perfectly spaced out?

Maybe it's from the locker ingageing and releasing and shifting in the slight gap in the male/female splines? It looks like it's not worn much or deformed.

The machining on the splines on the inside of the diff might have done that. Nothing you need to worry about.
if you wanna see some spline wear i have a 60 year old front driveshaft out of a willy's jeep with some serious spline wear lol
