There is a guy on here that is putting a 2uzfe (4.7L v8) into his 3rd gen. I would suggest you look at his thread.

anythings possible, how much money and/or fab skills do you have? there is an aussey kit that you can get that adapts the R trannies to the 1uz/2uz motor. so yes, technically all youd need is a clutch, flywheel, motor mounts, exhaust and rewiring or aftermarket EMS.

im still toying with this idea as well, for a 2nd gen pickup or 1st gen 4runner. supercharged 2uz with r154f hybrid tranny. should roll.

like i said, comes down to how much money you got, or fab skills. hell you could put a viper v10 in one of our trucks if you wanted too....

My point exactly. A charged 3rd gen runner would be a nice rig.

The only reason I'm entertaining this idea is my wife its concerned about putting money into my truck when I've got almost 200k miles on it. There's nothing wrong with it now but more power would be nice when it does eventually goes. As of now she's still running strong.

if you can effectively and economically gather parts, then theres no problem while she still runs. thats the best way to do it anyway. i say, keep your eye out for a good motor, buy megasquirt for your ems, and keep a few bux around for the adapter kit, exhaust and motor mounts, buy as you can, then set it all up and when the motor goes, you can have minimal down time.

Do you know how to get the 4.7 to work in a first gen 4Runner I heard that v-6 transmissions work but where do I find out what needs to be done? It's out of a 2000 Tundra an it HAS to be standard
