Custom Fabricated . . . Paper Clip

I was having trouble starting my 4Runner after I'd been driving around and after some googling I decided to test the Circuit Opening Relay. Sure enough, it worked like a charm. It was a cheap fix too, only costing a paper clip, which I expertly crafted into a jumper that would fit under the plastic cap marked "DIAGNOSTIC".

If there is no danger, I'm perfectly happy just leaving the paper clip there. Any concerns?

Eventually, something in the electrical circuit will "let the smoke out"! Ask me how I know. I used my jumper in an emergency coming down the smokey mountains, and I made it to the bottom. You may want to look at it before the smoke gremlin comes to visit when you least expect it, 200 miles from home for example.

Yeah, this is definitely temporary. I'm just trying to keep things running until I can get it fixed without getting raped by a mechanic.

You might want to understand what that COR when activated does and the side effects of it being activated 100% of the time. That's a diagnostic port not a bypass/bandaid port

That's a good point. The bottom line is I need to get it fixed correctly ASAP.
