I found a 3rz for CHEAP!!!

I had a deal literally fall into my lap and we'll see if it pans out but I had a question. Since my 82 has almost no electronics and the donor engine is a 98 4runner should I just take all of the electronics from the 4runner and simply wire in the ignition to the 82? I am not positive but I think with a little modification I could fit the 98 dash into the 82. Just curious on how I should do this since the 82 is still carb'd.

It's a 5spd so I'm gonna assume that it's not a limited.

Forgot the deal. 200 bucks for a complete 98 4runner that has a blown head gasket lol. Rich kid that doesn't want to deal with it anymore LOL.

The Limited only comes in automatic with the 3.4.

Did you use the dash from the taco or just splice the old dash in

I used the instrument cluster from the Taco and mod'd my dash to fit, looking back I should have put the entire Taco dash in. Check out my builds if you haven't.
Here's the link for the short version 2RZ Swap and heres the long extended version 2RZ My Way

Wow this doesn't look like it will be too bad. Thanks! I'm waiting on my buddy to move into his new place and get set up. I can't really do all of the work at my house so I'm sitting on my hands right now sadly. After I finish my fiberglass work it'll be on to this project. Guess I can part out the rest of the 4runner and that will settle that.

Yea I am looking at the same swap. i am just out a while and I still need to find the truck.
With the mounts and the harness it is not that bad.
The hard part is finding the 3rz bellhousing.

I would recommend both of these guys. I have Chilkat mounts and was going to get ToyOnly for my wiring until I just kept the entire Taco harness.

And by the way ORS is out of business, look at their home page.
