I am about to paint some items (not vehicle) for the first time with a HVLP gravity fed air paint sprayer. Do i need to adjust anything on my air compressor?

 

You need to make sure that you have enough air going to the gun. You also need to make sure your compressor puts out enough CFM at X PSI to work the gun properly. Set the regulator on the compressor and on the gun (if you have one on the gun) and play with the spray pattern adjustments until you like your results.
