So who belongs to the 300,000 mile club?

What's your current mileage, engine? What's your maintenance schedule?



'99 V6 4Runner 315,000.

 

315,000 and some change ive only done 15000 oil change every 4500 synthetic blend clean air filter every 2,000 and ive been doing my diffs at 10,000 with royal purple 2/3rd mix and 1 valvoline blend .

try and get only shell gas and get mid grade

truck starts first time everytime no issues just wish i could have been there for the first 300,000 woulda had to start when i was 3 though

 

I'm determined to get there. Purchased my '01 off the lot in June 2001 with 2 miles on the clock. I'm currently at 234,000 and see no reason that I won't get to 300,000.

Almost there... 275K. Bought it with about 60k about 8 years ago.
97 4runner limited. Wow, just did the math. Almost 27,000 miles a year since I bought it. So, at this rate I'll be in the club next year!

Do I get a merit badge or something. Haha.

 

Nice. Im getting up there too although I am at only 256k on the 1996 3.4 4runner. I really dont do much maintenance other than change the oil every 5k, rotate the tires, air filter every 30k or so. Hoping it makes it to 300k. Not many problems so far except the engine light on for a bad engine knock sensor.

 

any of you with super high miles had to adjust the valves yet?

93 has somewhere around 310k. I say somewhere around there cuz the clock acully says 289k but I drove it for a year and half w no speedo/odometer, and also a year + with 4.10's and 31's when it should have had 4,88's. I'm no mathematician, but I fig the 4.10's caused about a 20% under read of mileage, and in that time I put about 35k on her, so that accounts for 7k right there, then the year w/o speedo, I prolly drove 20+k, so 310k I think is a conservative estimate. its prolly closer to 320k....


The 94 is at 286k, and will be joining the 300+ club soon... althugh, the speedo has been intermittantly not working recently, so who knows....lol
No valve adjustments, or anything, Done nothing to the 94 other than oil/plugs/wires, also gutted the cat.

the 93 had the hg done by toyota around 70k, and I have done t-belt twice, an idler pulley, fan clutch, knock sensor circuit, and blocked off egr. Replaced tranny twice, both times due to water being sucked in. Truck has been literally submerged 3-4 times, towed a crazy amount of waaay to heavy loads, and seen some nasty mud, and rocks... i paid 7500 for it 11 years ago... I'd say I got my $'s worth.

 

Thats funny... but... did u know... with high end mercedes diesel cars, if u register with mercedes, they will send u a badge fr every 250k, I once had one come in the shop with over 1.5 million miles, it had all sorts of silver/gold/platinum badges attached to the grill.... I think te badges were worth more than th car at that point...lol

 

just another amazing testament to the quality of our runners and the bang up job toyota did in making them

 

im at 310650 and still going solid. recently did a compression test and got 205 on all 4 cylinders, which is incredible if you ask me. I need to replace the power steering pump and a valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. also get the knuckles serviced. other than that, just minor little things to make it run better.

 

310,XXX on the old 22r...

 

Unfortunately my 3.0 never made it that far...Toyota replaced it under the campaign at around 100k, then I put heads on it at around another 100k and put it to rest another 70k later becuase the rings were done... Truck itself has 280k so it is aspiring to join the 300club but now she's rockin' a 5vz with only 68k on it! I don't drive much or far any more so it will be a while but I'll be back...

seems a little high to me? I'm not positive on compression numbers for a 22re but I thought it should be around 170...

it comes out of the factory at 210. typically for something that old it would be 180. but i think 170 is a little low. Im not a mechanic though, that's just what mine told me.

also, just verified with toyota dealership locally, from factory for a 22re 175 per toyota

 

330,869 miles and still running great.

 

well we did the compression test just like the link and we got 205 per cylinder. i saw it with my own eyes. also 210 is what josh's mechanic said, and he seems like a mad scientist when it comes to them, regardless its strong.

 

Good lord that's high compression!!!
Seems there would have to be some serious mods going on there..20r head, shaved etc. etc. Some seriously expensive high compression pistons as well!

 

yea, no joke, something is amiss or unknown about this motor, however I was told the truck wouldn't pull more than 55 over the pass, so I don't know what kind of mods would create that much compression and no power....
