Honestly, do they ever die...

Background; 85 4x4 truck. 215,000 + miles, original engine, trans/t/c and axles. Upgrades: winch, lockers, 31's, armor, 3" lift.

I love hills. The gnarlier the better. Went wheelin yesterday with two jeeps, one built, one stock with a 4" lift. I led lookin for the nasty hills. I found them and conquered them without hesitation yet had to wait for the jeeps to screw up the confidence in their rigs to follow me.
Come on !! Mechanically speakin my truck should have died 100,000 miles ago. I love Toyota's.

Mine blew the to engine scrap at 335,800 miles. Frame is still good! Got a 22R sitting in the driveway with 200k on it to replace it, after a timing chain & guides.

Bumper

I also have an '85 pickup, and recently removed the same smittybilt front bumper off of my jeep and thought about building brackets for it to fit onto my pickup. Can you share some more pictures of the front of your truck and some info about the brackets you made?

yes they do, my bosses 94 jumped timing at about 200k. It has been majorly abused though. its pulled loaded semi's out of the mud, pull started big 4x4 tractors and the list goes on and on, I'm betting it lacked proper oil changes as well
