How do i run fog lights w/o headlights

Does anyone know of a way to have my fog lights run when the parking lights are on instead of running when the low beams are on? I have a 2000 4runner limited.

are they factory fog lights? are they controlled by a rocker switch or by the stock h/l switch? i installed the hella oe style fog lights on my 98 but they are controlled by a rocker. regardless, fog lights usually (should) utilize a relay. the relay is turned on when it receives current from the switch, whatever switch that might be. if the low beams turn on the relay now then with some work you could re-wire it so that your parking lights turn on the relay. but i don't know where the relay is on your rig, if its an internal part of the electrical system then it will be harder to do. if it was an aftermarket set up like mine then the relay is probably mounted somewhere near the battery and therefore would be much easier to deal with.

I have a 2000 4runner too and tried to figure this out a while back...do a search on here and there will be some old posts. If I remember correctly there is a relay and its inside the fuse box under the hood. Somehow I think they are tied into the DRL's (controller box for those is under the hood inside the driver side fender), i disabled my drl's and therefore was unable to do the mod needed to get the fogs on w/o the low's. This was all a long time ago, i'm sure someone here will chime in.

Just stating the obvious, that it needs to be put on a selectable circuit of it's own buy a wiring kit at the local parts house for $20 or $30 and you're good to go
