strange idle after valve cover gasket replacment

today i changed my valve cover gasket and cleaned my throttle body with throttle body cleaner. on my 93 22re and now its got a strange idle i some times it will idle high like at 1200 rpms and other times it will idle low at like 500 rpms . and when i drive it sometimes if i take off on it and put it in the floor it wants to bogg down and sputter then i got to back off and ease into it . it ran fine before i did these things this morrring any ideas what may be going on with my truck .

Do you have both of the half moon seals on the valve cover seated properly? Hopefully you unplugged the tps before cleaning the throttle body? If not, you may have ruined it and that's why your idle is acting up.

One of the times I took off my valve cover, I broke off the piece of plastic where a couple of vacuum hoses attach, causing a vacuum leak. That might be another possibility, especially if you're a clumsy mechanic like I am.
