Harbor Freight Lights-Opinions?
#3
all of those cheapie lights are about the same...they're DEFINITELY bright, i had a set of walmart KC look-a-likes and they were BRIGHT.
if you want BRIGHT light, go HID.
what size are the wheels on your 4runner? 18s??
looks good!!!!!

I picked up a set of aftermarket housings from Ebay and put in HID headlights from DDMTuning.com, their kit was awesome. They are so bright I almost didn't bother putting on aux lights but the Kragen HIDs went on sale so I added them too, now I can make daylight!
The Ebay housings were around $60 and the HID Hi/Lo 55W kit was about $75 shipped to AK so for $135 I got high beams that were as good as adding aux. lights and brighter lows. Gives you another option to think about.

does that 55W HID kit from DDMtuning have a HID bulb for the low beam and a Halogen bulb for the hi-beam?
i haven't been able to get a straight answer...
i'll be getting the 55W 6000K 9004 style HID kit...(which is Hi/Low) and idk if it's HI and LOW HID, or if it's HID low with Halogen piggyback high beam

It is a single bulb that pushes in and out with the aid of a solenoid. It works great in the after market lenses I got on ebay.
Be carefull about the 9000 series bulbs, the solenoid on the hi-low bulbs can interfere with the locking ring that holds the bulb in. I've had to modify the locking ring on a friends car by cutting some of it to get it to fit around the solenoid.
The kit I have is for an H4 bulb that locks in with a spring loaded wire so there is no problem clearing the solenoid.
The DDM kits are very good quality on the outside, we'll see how the bulbs and ballasts hold up but I've heard nothing but good things about their stuff.

shucks has $120ea HID 7" lights. I use one on my dirt bike and it is brighter than both my 4runner headlights combined. and it has smashed into so many trees. I lost the clear cover long ago from running through trees and branches. Eventually I will put two on my 4runner. it will be sick
