This thread will contain, at minimum, the trip reports from when I go up to Bald Mountain. I figured that would be simpler than just adding photos to my build thread, or starting a new thread each time I go up.

With that said, this doesn't have to be just my thread. Anyone who has wheeled Bald Mountain is invited to add their photos and experiences, as well. I'm not possessive or territorial!

And, to kick things off-

BALD MOUNTAIN, Veteran's Day, 2010.

We attempted to go up the tougher, northern trail. We were able to slowly make it up through a few "interesting" parts, until all three of us were going up a snow-covered off-camber hill just before the cutoff to the south trail. Then, Dbcfr's Aussies assisted him laterally, and he winched himself to the top of the trail. Then, Cougar and I both proceeded to get ourselves in need of the winch, as well. Dbcfr's Smittybuilt 10K lb winch seemed to work well.

We crossed over to the south trail. After a while, and a couple of ridiculous failures at climbing hills, I aired down from the 15 PSI that I had been running at, to a more effective 8PSI. It changed the entire driving experience. The wide tires on stock width rims didn't even show the slightest signs of slipping.

Once we were on the south trail, we were able to plod steadily along without much issue. The only trail carnage at all, was Cougar's Harley Davidson hitch cover. He was going up a staircase on the final ascent to the lookout, and happened to set his truck down on the hitch cover. Considering he was running a completely stock rig, I was very impressed with how well it handled a few different obstacles. I should also note that this was the first time that I had seen Treadwright tires on a trail. They seemed well-made, and the sidewalls were flexing nicely. I hope that they reintroduce a 33X12.50 tire again.
