1985 truck "Tink" maybe transmission.

Hi Folks.
I am in the process of doing a major refurbishing of my 85 long bed with 169k miles. I have replaced the timing chain and all the related stuff. Thanks to Yota Tech for the helpful insights, made the job more predictable.
The problem I am having is a "Tink" sound coming from under the truck. I have read about all the clunk issues but this is more of a tink sound. It started happening after I had a new cat convertor installed last yr. Thought it was related to that. But after securing everything I am sure that is not the problem. Now I am lubing all the U joints and yokes and the tink still persists. The driveline support is worn out, have a new one ordered from Toyota. I am hoping that is the source of the tink.
1st question: The support fits over the drive shaft and mounts to a cross member. There are flanges on each end of the drive shaft that are to large to slide the support over. How does one fit the support over the flanges on the drive shaft. Or, does the support come apart and install in 2 pieces. Dropped my old one and it seems to be a 1 peice unit.
2nd question: Now I am looking at the transmission mount, 5 sp manual. I noticed the large single bolt in the mount has about a 1/8th" gap between the mount that sits on the cross member and the mount on the transmission. I am thinking the bolt backed out and that is where the tink sound is coming from. It seems to happen under acceleration during shifting when the motor/transmission is under torque. Not on slowing or braking. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a gap there. The rubber on the mounts look good, so do the motor mounts.
I was hoping the chassis lube job would fix it but no such luck. It is not a clunk. It sounds exactly like someone is tapping the exhaust pipe with a sm wrench. I feel nothing through the stick shift or motor. Which leads me to believe it is not drive line related. It sounds like it is coming from the front half of the truck.
Really driving me bonkers. I am on a mission. I bought it new and it is such a good truck I want to keep it for many more yrs. So far I have spent $700 on parts to rebuild, got a 30% discount from the local Toyota dealer, decided to go all OEM with such a good discount.
Thanks for your help! And help with the timing chain.

does the tink speed increase with tire speed or rpm?

Is the exhaust free from bumping agains anything. Mine did it on start up when the exhaust would shift as motor cranked and started. I would think a shift could do the same. It drove me nuts.

It sounds like your u joints since it is happens when it is under torque. Is it a fast ting, 2 or 3 tings a second when you first start moving?
