Tranny Question

I am need of a new transmission (5spd) 88 4runner. I went to the Marlin site to get a quote and to my surprize the site showed that the W56 for 88 Toyota is a AX15. This transmission is used on Jeeps with 6 cly engines. Does anyone know if a AX15 from Jeep will fit the 22RE engine? Seems that I can get a used AX15 for pretty cheap.

The AX should be the R-150...

Then you'll have the trouble of the bell housing and tail shaft for the TC you need to use...
