Storing a 1st gen 4runner top....questions

Hey guys,

I finally got around to taking off my top - it's been years and damn I missed it.

I last had it off a few years back and stored it, level, on sawhorses at my in-laws for a few months during the summer.

This time, since I didn't have any trips up there planned, I took it off and stored it UPRIGHT in our 1 car garage. It's stored with the cab side on the ground, of course, whichI thought was flush and would not incur any warping issues.

So my question is....am I risking warping the top at all? Is this method bad? I can't store level/hang it - just no room at all in our godawful garage....

i stored mine like that for years, any warpage you caould get i guess would be taken away when you bolted it back on tight. i have had mine hanging from a ceiling, in the yard on un even groung and on the end shoved against the wall with absolutly no problems

Thanks for the fast reply!

I'm figuring it's fine...it's fiberglas after all, and flexes pretty well when taking off anyway.

Thanks!

I keep mine like that too. I only put the top on a few times a year and I have been doing it that way for 5+ years and I haven't seen any warping at all.

Yea I just had to have someone on the outside push while I bolted it back in. No issues.
