Will fenders and hood from 1st gen p/u fit on 86 cab and frame?

ok. well i think the title pretty much sums it up. i have a 86 4x4 reg cab short bed pickup. i have done some searching but to no luck. so im hoping someone has some information on this. i have always liked the look of the early 80's pickups so what im wondering is if any of those body panels (hood, fenders, bed, etc) will fit on my 86 frame and cab. the cab of mine is fine. minimal rust. the bed is badly rusted.

i will do an intro post soon. ive been lurking here for a while now but never needed to post anything yet. until now. im pretty active on celicasupra.com since i have 2 celica supras and a celica gts. i sold my 3rd supra.

thanks in advance for the input.

(ps. im also trying to decide on a color scheme for my truck. i was thinking a two tone lime green top half with black bottom half and black rims.

i also have another question? will the gauge cluster from a 84 celica supra fit in the 86 pickup dash?

i want to do a sr5 swap but idk if im going to be able to find the gauges without having to order them. and since i have a parts car supra, i can use that cluster. i just didnt know if they would work since i havent taken a close enough look at them yet. kinda hoping someone has already tried this...

thanks yall.

No they will not

Why would parts from a completly different truck fit.

I have heard of people swapping the whole body with some fab work. But no body parts will fit.

well. i figured it wouldnt be quite a direct bolt up. but i was just trying to get an idea of how much fab work would be needed to put the front end of a <84 on a 86 cab and frame. i didnt know if someone has tried this in the past and if there would be any info on it.

just tryin to throw out some ideas here. i might just have to get the front end of a <84 and do some measuring and see what i can figure out.

If the donor truck is an 84 and you want to put the fenders and hood on your 86, then it will work. I have an 86 4Runner and i swapped both doors one fender and the hood onto my 86, and everything was a direct fit, so it will work.

I don't know what you want it to look like, but it seems like it'd be easier to buy a >84 pickup and modify that. I would like to see a hybrid of >84 and <84, like an <84 extended cab and bed, and >84 front.

idk about any of that kind of stuff so idk if that would work at all or not haha. But I'm torn between the pre-84 and post-84 for my next toy, so I know why you want a combo of the two.
