1987 with the rod knockin at the door

well first off im glad i found this site. second of all looks like i get to get all dirty with the motor swap.

couple pics of the truck

bought it a couple months ago to play with and take camping. so long story short i was driving down the highway and started losing some power. turned down the radio and noticed a horrible knocking noise its loud as hell and no fun lol.

so im stuck between either doing a just a block or finding a used 22R. the head in the truck just got rebuilt 4,000 miles ago, according to the previous owner. so some basic thoughts and whatnot would be great.

Dont really wanna dump a ton of money into it, because it is used as a toy, to take camping and a little bit of trail use.

thanks again

How many miles on the block? I would pull the motor out and tear it down to see what damage exists and then make a decision.
