I just bought a 1986 2 wheel drive with a automatic trans and a good turbo engine, I want to put this engine in my 1985 4X4 with 5 speed, what problems can I expect to encounter with this swap. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

 

not too sure, try asking in the engine swap section, its under the offroad/fab shop section

 

leave the 4x4 tranny in the truck. swap the motor strait up then worry about the turbo connections.

 

Thanks for the reply. This truck is my daily driver, so I am trying to head off any problems before hand, so I won't be walking any longer than I have to.

 

your best bet would be to build the motor, harness and mounts separate then do a direct swap. you will spend most of your time and money wile still driving your truck everyday. then spend some cash on some whiskey and some pizza and get it done in a weekend..
