check behind the wheel!!!! just kidding it should be a bolt on the pass side of the tranny directly centerd front to baack and top to bottom you will need to remove bolt and insert finger if your unsur if it is low and none comes out when bolt is removed just squirt gear oil into the hole till it over flows replace bolt.bolt lookes like a oilpan drain bolt

it should be right even with the bottom of the hole...make sense?
if you have more than that (not sure if you have a side shifting L43 or a top shift L45 or L50) you could have some water in there....unless it is a top shift, sometimes people will fill the transmission through the shift hole..

As mentioned already, if you stick your finger in there, it should get wet. If you don't easily hit gear oil with your finger, you need to top it off. What I do with mine is fill it up until it starts to run out, then put the bolt in. So when I go to check mine (if there's no leak), a very small amount will run out of the fill hole. But as long as the level is right up there at the top of the hole, and you can get some on your finger, it's likely full enough.

No it cant be 17mm I have got it figured to be between a 23mm and 24mm but the 24mm is too big and 23mm to small so I dont know what it is.

well mine is 17mm...unless someone used a diff drain plug, than it would be 24mm...
since it is rounded off and the ones you tried don't fit, go to an SAE wrench and start trying them.
