Trouble shooting help (99-00 LImited 4runner t-case)

I need someone to try some stuff for me. I need you to turn the car on, shift your t-case into Neutral, confirm its in Neutral, then turn off car and remove key. Now try to shift T case out of neutral. Can you? what about the rest of the settings

I'd do it myself but my T-case is in my living room.

I cant get my case to shft after taking apaprt/putting together my t-case. Cant figure out if its because the electric isnt hooked up, or i bumbled it up.

Thanks!!!

i can check when i go home. I know i had to turn the acc on and then i could put it in neutral after placing my foot on the brake. But i can't remember if i had to put it back into park the same way.

I was lubing the driveshaft and needed it to rotate.

still around for the answer. had to put my slippers on for this

Ok. Car running put t-case into N and red light came on saying so and it rolled back.
Turned off- removed key. Would not shift from N.... NOW. After setting everything back to normal I tried 1 more time.

Started enging shifted into 4H and put in gear to get the 4X (green) light on. Then into N and confirmed, turned off and removed key. This time I was able to shift throughout all the gears 4L-n-4H-2 then back the other way to 4L and N. Was just a little tricky or sticky getting from N to 4H slot.

Hope this works out.

Hmmmm thanks!!! +karma. Looks like I'll bring the case out to the car and put it in and test instead of pulling it apart again. It should work.. I hope. I'll keep you updated tomorrow
