new Doug Thorley header with Flowmaster 40

So i got my DT header on, and popped my flowmaster back on, but its not any louder, nor does it seem to have gained any power. is this normal or did i do something wrong...

pics will come later when i get my camera back

Unfortunately a header and muffler wont make a substantial difference without other modifications.

A motor is essentially a air pump. The more air it pumps the more power it makes.
I think youd feel a slight improvement with some basic airbox mods and a high flow air filter as a start.
If youve already done that its time to dig in deeper and get a performance head and cam for additional power.

i would love to let you hear it, just dont have a video camera at the moment... as soon as i get one ill post it up for you. it sounds good, not as loud as id like it to be. its louder than stock for shure, and its got a deep tone to it. id say go for it

A header really doesn't make the exhaust "sound" very different. At least I have never noticed a difference and I have personally switched from manifold/s to headers at least 10 times, but I have usually been able to tell some sort of a "seat of the pants" gain from a header swap. The car that it made a HUGE difference on was a 90 Civic HB that I got for $150 with a d15.

"they" say the best exhaust on a 22re motor so id assume similar for a 22r is 2.25 inch pipe through a hi flow cat to a straight through muffler. i believe it is said that youll get a somewhat noticeable gain in power and mpg's but if your motor is not running as efficiently as possible (sensors are newish or still working and good plugs and wires etc) you probably wouldnt notice much of anything besides noise
