3VZE cross over pipe mod?
To start this I am not looking for any more power, I just want to eliminate the dumb manifold crossover design. I do not want to buy headers as I see no need for them.
What I am thinking is taking the stock crossover pipe and scrapping it, then using the flanges from it that attach to the manifolds to make new divided pipes. I would bring them back together before the cat. To do this would get rid of one of the huge problems in this design the fact that the pass side manifold dumps right into the #6 exhaust port. I believe that this is a large contributing factor to the HG issues on this engine as well as all the burnt valves.
Doing so I get the cost savings of keeping the stock manifolds and time savings of not needing to remove them and stuffing in headers.
I have done quite a bit of exhaust work before and think this will be fairly easy and cost about $200 in materials.
Any one else done this? Or have any ideas?

Sounds like a waste of time and money to me. Run the 3.0 till it blows and then swap in a 3.4 or buy another 3.0. If you put another 3.0 in modify the xover then or put headers on it. My $.02

Well I would but my 3.0L only has 80K kms on it after Toyota put in a new long block under there campaign. Well see I need to redo my exhaust any ways.

that just scares me for some reason 
that down-pipe is running reeeeaaaaaly close to the fuel line...
maybe there's a reason Toyota kept the piping on the driver's side of the vehicle...

Plenty of room and I put heat shielding around it. Been running it for 3-4 months with absolutely no problem. You solve more problems with this than you create. same thing if you ran headers but this is much cheaper.
