Clutch help needed ASAP

Im in the middle of replacing the clutch in my 87 4runner. Im installing a marlin crawler hd clutch and i have no idea what direction the cluth goes on the flywheel. It seems to fit up against the flywheel both ways. Its different from the oem clutch that came out of it. The center of the clutch that slides over the splines sticks off of the clutch further on one side. On the oem cluth the center part sticks out further on the opposite side of the clutch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at mine and see what you mean. The old disc has a lot more of that splined portion sticking out on the flywheel side.

When viewed from the edge, the flat side faces the flywheel. This isn't a very good picture, but it's the only one I have. I picked the disc up off the pressure plate. The side thicker due to the springs goes toward the pressure plate.

I presume the one from Marlin goes on the same way.

never used a marlin clutch but generally the clutch disc hub and spring assembly would face the tranny.
