2nd gen 4runner cruise control fix - - sorta

Im really only posting because i couldn't find any info when i looked so maybe this will help someone someday..

91 4runner, Cruise control would engage, and usually only work for a minute or so, or not engage at all (just light in dash)....

Also, had the brake light dimly glowing in the dash since i got it (2weeks ago), never thought they would be connected but. After I disconnected the master cylinder elec connector the dim brake light goes away and the cruise works....WALLA

im sure you can just go buy a new cap, or fix yours like i have seen here somewhere, but i just left mine disconnected...

Hope this helps someone sometime.

So if your brakes do actually fail (no fluid) you will have no warning until you run into a tree? Doesn't sound so smart to me....

Really, A tree.... I would be more worried about running into old people, or like babies and old people, that would be a tragedy.. ..

No really my maintenance schedule is extreme, a little more anal than a proctologist and about as smelly.... if it got to the point of which ALL my brakes fail, including the parking brake, then yes i deserve to hit a tree....There is a reason we all call then idiot lights...

/idiot rant
