Dash Lights

Hello....I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me....I have a 1990 pickup...I haven't had it but, a couple of weeks, and I'm trying to get some of the "bugs" out....I'm pretty mechanically inclined....but I can't seem to figure out this problem....I have no dash lights, console lights, or heater control lights...I do seem to have the tiny lights in the power window button, window lock, and door lock lights working....and staying on all the time BTW. I have replaced the dimmer switch.....nothing....I read all the threads I could find on the subject....many here were un-answered....if anyone can help I would appreciate a reply

just a note.....I took the rheostat out of my 90' 4runner....which I knew worked....still won't make my dash lights work in my truck......and now....I put the rheostat back in my 4runner....and it no longer works.....which makes me think I have a hard short in the dash lights of my truck.....does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram????...Thanks
