Radiator hose clamps ?

I'm partial to using / replacing the factory type radiator hose clamps that don't have the worm /screw bolt for tightening but rather are just a compression/stretch fit. I worry less about the plastic radiator necks cracking etc.
On the other hand the screw type band/clamp should'nt give at all with temperature changes and the factory types could be just a 'quicker line assembly' type thing.
Thoughts ?
thx

I've never replaced the original factory hose clamps on either of my 4Runners. They were reused after hose and/or radiator replacement and I've never had any leaks.

The clamp that holds the bottom radiator hose on got pulled off once off roading, causing massive fluid loss, and overheating. Made for an interesting evening.

The screw-type are tighter, but they can tend to lacerate the rubber hoses if installed too tightly, or just from normal vibration and wear. I'd like to see a screw-type clamp with rolled edges to prevent this.

I'd just re-use the stockers, unless they are too corroded or otherwise weakened.

Might be better to post this in the 78 forum.
