Anyone know how to remove a front left clearance light (left blinker next to headlight) on a 1998 4runner? need to change the bulb.

There is a screw on the top that i have removed but it is attached somewhere...

all you have to do is pull forward i believe...there are clips that connect the fixture to the side panel...
let me doublecheck in my CHILTON(of which i strongly suggest you invest in-these books are...very useful...)
by the way it looks, it appears there is only one tab that you have to pull out and it is at the lower inside corner of the fixture.
...pull straight out and it should pop right out. it takes a litttle elbow grease-i've done one of these before and they can be stubborn.

They just have a tab that pops in and out on the bakside and yes they take a little strength to get them out. Just make sure to pull straight out and you'll be fine. Also, do not to use the little plastic piece that sticks out to screw the top in as leverage to pull it out. I did, not even noticing and almost broke it off.

 

A well directed hit with the palm of your hand will pop it right out, works every time for me.

Thanks for all the replies. i tried muscling out the clearance light and it doesn't seem to budge. Afraid of breaking it since these pieces are plastic. any specfiic ways you guys have gotten this thing off?

I was thinking about removing the headlight's glass lens... but i heard this is actually glued on.

it will come off as said b4 take the one screw on top off and pull straight it will pop off

 

I remember wedging a screwdriver in there somewhere and gently nudging it until it popped out.
